All you need to know about marijuana in the workplace
Employers have the obligation to make sure that all workers have the ability to do their job safely. Being impaired at work, for whatever reason, can affect one's ability to focus, make decision, follow instructions and handle equipment and tools.

John Aird of Workplace Safety and Prevention Services will discuss the steps a business can take to address this issue including educating and training staff how to recognize and deal with impairment, and having effective employee policy manuals.

Other topics of discussion will include:
  • Recognizing impairment
  • Employer and employee roles and responsibilities
  • Human rights and the duty to accommodate
  • What to include in workplace policies
  • Tuesday November 6
  • Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.
Members are encouraged to bring a potential new member to monthly chapter meetings.
